Dash Snow

Dash Snow emerged in the early 2000s as one of the most uncompromising and mythologized figures of his generation. Rooted in New York’s downtown scene, his work channelled an unfiltered documentation of life on the margins — weaving together photography, collage, installation, and assemblage with an immediacy that was both raw and poetic. Snow’s practice was driven by a diaristic impulse, recording fleeting moments, friends, excess, and decay. His imagery — often culled from newspapers, magazines, and personal snapshots — dismantled notions of propriety, reflecting on rebellion, mortality, and the ephemerality of youth. While his public persona was inextricably linked to his lived experience, Snow’s artistic output demonstrated a sophisticated awareness of art history and the power of visual mythmaking.

His works have been exhibited in significant institutional and gallery contexts, including the Whitney Biennial, New York (2006), MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma (2011), and Freeze Means Run at The Brant Foundation Art Study Center, Greenwich (2012, 2016). Beyond CFA, solo presentations have taken place at Peres Projects, Los Angeles; Rivington Arms, New York; and PARTICIPANT INC., New York.
